INTERVIEW
RXYM Fashion:

You are pretty much surfing everyday and competing every weekend now. What comps are you doing and how has your riding improved over the last year?

Hunter:

Yeah I'm doing a lot a comps lately because I'm trying to finish in the top 10 in both ISF and WSA. Right now in WSA I am 12th, and there's one more contest left for the season so I'm hoping to do good so I can finish in the top 10. Yeah a lot of people are telling me that my surfing has improved a lot lately and that always gets my pumped to hear. I just go by what Taylor Knox told me when I saw him at South Side one day. He said, "Yeah just go big, even it makes you look stupid."

RXYM Fashion:

We heard from a little bird that you are being coached by Bart Reilly, (Oneill team rider Brent Reilly's father) here in Carlsbad. What has he taught you and what are you working on?

Hunter:

He's taught me a lot for how short we have been working together. He gives me a lot of contest strategies and tips on how I can improve my surfing. Haha maybe I'll end up like Brent someday.

RXYM Fashion:

You and RXYM team rider Harrison Adler now ride for a certain wax company, tell us about them and is the stuff epic?

Hunter:

Dude. Ransom is the sickest wax company. They have the BEST wax around. The stuff is so good. I don't think I have ever slipped on one wave with ransom wax www.Ransomwax.com and order some wax!

RXYM Fashion:

What are your goals this year?

Hunter:

Uhh, my goals for this year are to improve my style and to land more of my bigger manuevers that I go for. I would also like to win a couple of contests hopefully. Maybe even pick up another sick sponsor.

RXYM Fashion:

Why are there so many chicks emailing you on myspace? Are you a ladies man or do you care more about waves?

Hunter:

Ha! not really. I'm not a ladies man but I guess my hair (that I recently cut off) was what had the ladies goin.

RXYM Fashion:

You will be going into high school next year? Are you nervous or amped? Are you going to compete on Carlsbad's surf team?

Hunter:

I'm so stoked for High School. I'm nervous but amped because it wont be as freakin stricked as middle school. I might try to go out for the surf team. If I don't make the A team, thats fine but my goals are to make the A team before Senior year.

RXYM Fashion:

What moves do you dream about doing and where do you hope to surf someday?

Hunter:

I dream about doing a sushi roll. Thing is so sick. Give props to Julian Wilson right there. I dream of going to The Mentawai Islands in Indonesia that my dad and I are going to next year hopefully. I also go to Costa Rica every year and this year is going to be super sick because I'm bringing fellow RXYM XRMY rider Harrison Adler with me!

RXYM Fashion:

What do you do when you are not surfing and eating fatty burritos?

Hunter:

I'm mostly chilling with my friends and at the beach. I'm at my house a lot but mostly I'm just surfing all over and eating breakfast burritos from CESSYS in Carlsbad.

RXYM Fashion:

Your parents are pretty epic! How important is it to have parents and family that support your surfing?

Hunter:

Its very important to have a supportive family in surfing because you need to have parents that are willing to take you to your contest early in the morning and sometimes be the shoffer to drive me and my friends to where we want to go surf. They have to sign you up for contests and my parents have really done a good job at how much they support me!

RXYM Fashion:

Go ahead and thank all your sponsors, friends... whoever! Get Radical Rat!!

Hunter:

Thanks and I would like to thank RXYM FASHION USA for giving me such a good opportunity to be on such a sick company. Also I want to thank Ransom Surf Wax for putting me on the team also. And Everyone on RXYM!!!!!
