Crazy FOOD in the RXYM North Shore House

 Story by Ray Machado

Alright.. let's be honest.  You've been here before.  You are staying in a house with a bunch of friends who all have different eating habits.  Some are meat eaters while others are vegetarians.  Some are living on a very small budget while others are going out to fancy restaurants every other night.  Some eat early, others eat late.  What do you do?  Well if you are like me, you are somewhere in the middle.  Here are some mental notes I have taken from this unique learning experience:

1) Brandon "ODB" Foster loves potatoes.. A LOT!!  He bought a sack of potatoes and cooked all of them the first night.  He then proceeded to eat them for lunch and dinner every night for a full week.  Sometimes he mixed them with veggies and other times he mixed them with meat.  And still at other times he just ate them with ketchup caveman style.  "Bru, I've lived on a budget of $2.50 a day for 3 months one time on the North Shore.  That year I ate beans and rice almost every meal. Now that I have a bit more money I have moved onto potatoes.  If you see my bowl of potatoes in the fridge, they are OFF LIMITS!!  You don't need to spend a ton of money to eat healthy." commented Brandon.

2) Justin Crossman and Nick Crossman eat very clean and healthy.  Anything from black beans and steamed veggies to seared chicken with just the right amount of protein and carbs to get your body through the day.  "I buy my food daily, cook it properly and eat very balanced.  Your body can only digest 1 gram of protein for every pound you weigh so you have to eat right.  A lot of people want to be buff or go on a diet.. the best diet you can have is to eat six small meals a day and work out with a variety of movements.  Be consistent and you will see results fast.  Get your metabolism up," suggested Nick Crossman.

3) Rusty Friesen and Matt Byzak eat whatever is available.  "You don't have to watch every meal you eat and count calories.  I drink Cherry Pepsi and love steak. Rusty eats avocado sandwiches with veggies, cheese, and potato chips inside.  As long as you surf and work out, you can eat anything and be fit.  We don't eat horrible.. not at all.  We just eat normally," explained Matt Byzak.

I personally suggest you go on a trip with your friends and just watch and learn from each one of them.  On this trip, I've learned a lot about food for some reason.  Take the good from their lives and apply it to yours.  But at the end of the day, my friends eat some weird food.
